Job Type: Part-Time (Full-Time Available Seasonally)
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our kitchen team at AMVETS Post 2. As a Line Cook, you will play an essential role in preparing high-quality meals for our veterans and guests. This position requires a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and an understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Set up and stock workstations with ingredients and supplies.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking equipment.
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen appliances, tools, and utensils.
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of food.
- Help manage food inventory and communicate with kitchen supervisors about stock levels and shortages.
- Maintain excellent communication with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
- Provide excellent customer service through quality food preparation and attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and organization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions with accuracy.
- A passion for serving veterans and contributing to a positive environment for members and guests.
- High school diploma or equivalent (culinary school or related training preferred).
- Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain).
